You Can't Go Astray Buying A GE Hotpoint Electric Range
The Hotpoint electric range is a vintage kitchen appliance. Heck, my grandmother still has her stove from the 1960s in her small cabin by the lake and it's still working perfectly. But, General Electric is known for producing some of the most solid kitchen appliances out there, and their Hot Point series is no exception.I've encountered quite a few bad brands when I was employed as a salesperson at a local appliance store, and I could always attest to the quality of GE merchandise. There are a couple of other solid brands out there, but GE just produces some classic workhorses. We actually had quite a few of those fancy European (and particularly Italian) products in our store, and they definitely had certain aesthetic advantages - they're beautiful little things, honestly - but we would get them back time and time again with a multitude of problems.
This was really a headache because the parts were so much more pricey. While the initial commissions on products like that were higher, and they were good looking machines at first glance, I soon figured out that it wasn't worth selling them. It not only cost the shop money (in which I became a partial investor after a few years) due to the greater number of repairs we had to do on the machines, but it also hurt my sales in the long run.
People get angry when you sell them things that break. Even if you did not know about the quality issues, and prepared to fix the problem ASAP, it still was quite a bit of time out of someone's day. From all of my experience, I can tell you that GE creates some great appliances, and their electric ranges particularly stood out. Not only to do they keep up to pace with all of the new (and now seemingly necessary features), but they are much less likely to break down.
Fewer and fewer companies produce quality products, and the Hotpoint electric ranges are still the workhorses that they always were. Honestly, if you're actually using your kitchen appliances, there is no reason to simply go for anything that looks nice. Pick out something that makes an effort to combine style and function. And make sure it is a good model. From my experiences, you can't go wrong with a GE Hotpoint range.
